Pass it forward with care

Community guidelines

Becoming should feel like a place where people can share something useful without being judged, preached at or put under pressure. These guidelines help protect that feeling.

01

Share experience, not instructions

Talk about what helped you, what you learned, or what you are trying. Avoid telling another person what they must do or presenting your experience as the only answer.

02

Be kind and respectful

No bullying, harassment, hate, humiliation, threats or personal attacks. Disagreement is fine; treating somebody as less worthy is not.

03

Protect privacy

Do not post phone numbers, addresses, email addresses, social handles, workplace details or other private information. Do not share somebody else’s personal story without their permission.

04

Keep advice within sensible limits

Becoming is not a medical, legal, financial or crisis service. Personal experience can be valuable, but avoid giving risky professional-style instructions or encouraging somebody to ignore qualified help.

05

No spam or promotion

Pass It Forward is for useful thoughts and encouragement, not advertising, repeated links, recruitment, scams or self-promotion.

06

Moderation is part of the space

Every Pass It Forward submission is reviewed before publication. A submission may be declined, and something already published may be removed later if it no longer fits these guidelines or creates a safety concern.
